East-West Dialogue

The East–West Dialogue Association was established to strengthen and expand over two decades of work in youth delegations, student exchanges, and educational encounters.

The association provides a professional framework for long-term cooperation between organizations and institutions in Israel and abroad that have collaborated for years on joint educational projects.

Its activities are based on extensive experience working with Jewish, Muslim, Druze, and Christian youth in Israel, alongside partnerships with Germany, Poland, and other Western countries, promoting shared society, intercultural dialogue, and trust-building through ongoing educational encounters.

We believe that direct human encounters create real change. Personal connection helps people understand one another, reduce fear, and build lasting relationships. The association works to strengthen ongoing connections between Israel, Germany and Europe, with the intention of expanding to additional countries in the future, and to nurture a generation that is open-minded, socially aware, and capable of respectful dialogue in a complex world.

Israel is a natural meeting point between East and West — geographically, culturally, and humanly. Like Germany, which also stands at a historical and cultural crossroads, Israel brings together diverse populations whose roots lie in both East and West, creating a human mosaic where languages, cultures, and worldviews meet and influence one another.

This position between continents, alongside the diversity of identities and cultures, makes Israel not only a place where tensions and conflicts exist, but also a space where daily encounters between people, communities, and perspectives take place. Within this complex reality lies a continuous opportunity for acquaintance, learning, and mutual understanding — through shared life, dialogue, and human connection.

 At present, the association is working to identify partners in Germany interested in youth exchange projects focusing on:

• Shared society and intercultural dialogue

• Memory and historical responsibility

• Contemporary issues

• Globalization and cultural identity

The programs are based on unique working methods developed over the years, including:

• Facilitated dialogue processes

• Creative workshops in art and performance

• In-depth group encounters

• Experiential shared learning

The association brings with it extensive accumulated experience, professional facilitation teams, and a broad network of partners, with the aim of creating a stable framework that will ensure the continuation, expansion, and deepening of international exchange and encounter programs.

Schools, youth groups, educators, local authorities, and volunteers are welcome.
